Centered on Pierre Boulez’s landmark Dialogue de l’ombre double, the recital explores music as a form of dialogue—between performers, between acoustic and electronic sound, and between presence and reflection. The program moves from intimate chamber works to immersive spatial sound, including a newly composed electroacoustic work by Jon Robertson, inviting listeners to experience music as communication that unfolds across space, texture, and time.

Runner Records First Triple-Double in Program History Against Belmont
|
|
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's basketball saw a historic performance on Thursday night in Meeks Family Fieldhouse, as Camryn Runner (Cicero, Ind./Hamilton Heights) recorded the first triple-double in program history with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. However, the Aces fell just short, dropping a 79-73 decision to Belmont in overtime.
Georgia Cox (Ballarat, Australia/Eastern Illinois) also had a career night, scoring a career-high 23 points and knocking down 3-for-4 shots from three-point range. Cox also added a career-best four assists while playing 34 minutes, another career-high. Sydney Huber (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Mount Vernon) added 11 points, five rebounds and three assists in 41 minutes of action, while Elle Snyder (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) matched a career-high with 11 rebounds.
Both teams started slow offensively, as the game went into the first media timeout tied at 2-2. However, the Aces were able to build a lead on back-to-back three-pointers by Georgia Ferguson (Waterloo, Ontario/Cairine Wilson Secondary School) and Huber before Snyder capped the quarter with a triple, giving the Aces a 13-5 advantage.
Belmont stormed back to begin the second quarter, using a quick 8-0 run to tie things up at 13. Both teams traded baskets for the remainder of the period, with Belmont jumping in front late in the quarter to take a 31-26 at halftime.
Just as Belmont started the second quarter on a run, Evansville began the third quarter the same way, scoring the first six points to regain the lead. Once again, both sides traded blows throughout the quarter, with a three by Runner putting the Aces on top 44-41 going into the fourth.
The game remained tight in the fourth quarter, with a pair of free throws by Runner tying the score at 49 with 5:30 remaining. At the 4:14 mark, BreAunna Ward (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs School) converted a clutch and-1, followed by another and-1 by Runner a minute later to put the Aces up two. Huber was able to stretch the lead to five on a triple, but Belmont stormed back at the end of regulation, using a free throw with 21 seconds left to tie things at 59 and force overtime.
Going to overtime for the first time this season, Evansville continued to battle the league-leading Bruins, tying the score at 66 with 2:26 on a layup by Jelena Savic (Melbourne, Australia/Kurunjang Secondary College). However, the Bruins took control from there, outscoring the Aces 13-7 in the final minutes to escape with a win.
Evansville remains home on Sunday, hosting Indiana State at Meeks Family Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 3 PM. |

UE Softball unveils newest facility enhancement
|
|
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Three years ago, the University of Evansville softball program took to the field for the first time following a $1 million turf upgrade at Tri-State Orthopaedics Field at Cooper Stadium. Today, the Purple Aces program takes another transformational step with the unveiling of a new clubhouse project.
The project is anchored by the creation of a new UE Softball Clubhouse (Phase 1), followed by the development of a newly enhanced Softball locker room (Phase 2) at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Together, these investments reflect continued momentum for the program and a strong institutional commitment to competitive excellence and student-athlete well-being.
Phase 1: UE Softball Clubhouse (Underway)
Phase 1 transforms the former weight room inside McCutchan Stadium into a dedicated Softball Clubhouse, designed exclusively for the program. Head coach Bailey Dillender and her staff have been actively involved throughout the planning and design process to ensure the space reflects the culture, standards, and vision of UE Softball.
The Clubhouse will feature:
- Coaches Suite
- Players’ Lounge and Team Suite
- Beauty Bar
- Nutrition and Fueling Area
- Conference / Media Room
- Bold Purple Aces branding throughout
The Clubhouse will serve as the daily hub of the program—supporting preparation, recovery, connection, and culture—while also providing a powerful recruiting tool that reflects the standard being built within UE Softball.
“My first conversation with Ziggy when I took over the program was the vision I had for our student-athletes NOW, and how that same vision helps us to move the needle forward with our program for years to come. The clubhouse project has been such a labor of love and commitment by so many people. The generosity of gifts in phase 1 led us to dream bigger, and better for our student-athletes, past, present, and future. I am grateful for the support to get us this far and am looking forward to having more Aces get us across the finish line this summer!” – UE Head Softball Coach Bailey Dillender
Phase 2: Softball Locker Room (Targeted for Fall 2026)
Phase 2 includes the relocation of UE Softball into the former Baseball locker room, which will be enhanced and reimagined as a dedicated Softball locker room and directly connected to the new Clubhouse.
Construction on this phase is scheduled to begin at the conclusion of the Spring 2026 semester, with a target move-in date at the start of Fall 2026.
The enhanced locker room will:
- Provide a larger, program-specific footprint designed for Softball
- Dedicated Space for Helmets, Gloves, Cleats and Uniforms
- Modern washroom facilities and Changing Areas
- Motivational Messaging and Graphics
Together, the Clubhouse and locker room will form a unified home for UE Softball—spaces intentionally designed to blend tradition, functionality, and modern expectations.
Momentum, Impact, and Call to Action
The UE Softball Clubhouse and Locker Room Project represent more than a facility upgrade—it is an investment in the future of our student athletes and the long term competitiveness of our program. These spaces will finally give our student athletes a home they can be proud of: a modern, functional, inspiring environment that reflects who they are and who we aspire to be.
The new Clubhouse and enhanced locker room will provide the daily resources today’s student athletes expect—space to prepare, recover, meet, study, and build meaningful team connection. At the same time, these facilities will serve as a signature first impression for recruits, showcasing a program that is committed to excellence and fully aligned with the expectations of Division I softball.
“These facilities will be transformational for our program,” said UE Director of Athletics Ziggy Siegfried. “They reflect the direction Coach Dillender is leading us and demonstrate to current and future student athletes that UE Softball is committed to providing a championship caliber experience.”
Already, more than $200,000 has been secured through the generosity of softball alumnae, supporters, and friends of the program. Approximately $100,000 remains to fully fund both phases at the level our student athletes deserve.
We now invite the broader UE Softball family—alumnae, parents, supporters, and all those who believe in this program—to help close the gap and bring this vision to life. This is a pivotal moment to make a lasting, visible impact on the women who wear the Aces uniform today and those yet to come.
Naming opportunities and additional avenues for support will be announced soon.
Impacts from these upgrades will go a long way in supporting the recruiting, retention, and holistic development of student-athletes on and off the field. It demonstrates a continued commitment to the program that is driven by leadership, investment, and strong community support.
This project is just the latest in multiple facility enhancements for the UE softball program that set it apart from the rest of the Missouri Valley Conference.

Late rally lifts Bulldogs to win over UE men's basketball
|
|
DES MOINES, Iowa – Trailing by as many as 19 points in the second half, Drake staged a huge late rally to defeat the University of Evansville men’s basketball team by a final score of 82-78 on Wednesday at the Knapp Center.
Evansville held a 59-40 lead with 12:57 remaining before the Bulldogs completed the game on a 42-19 run to take the victory. Leading the Purple Aces was Leif Moeller who posted 20 points 7 boards, and 7 assists, all team bests. Bryce Quinet registered 16 points while AJ Casey and Josh Hughes finished with 15 and 11 points, respectively. Jalen Quinn paced the Bulldogs with 26 points.
“We played really good basketball for most of the game, but it is unfortunate with how things turned out. I need to help our guys do better in the moment and overcome stretches by the opponents,” UE head coach David Ragland said. “We fought like crazy tonight – I will not question the heart and fight of our group.”
Five ties and three lead changes highlighted a competitive first half. The outside shooting for the Aces made the difference in the opening moments as the first triple of the evening saw Leif Moeller give UE its first lead at 3-1. After missing their first three field goal tries, the Bulldogs converted to tie it at 3-3. Triple by Bryce Quinet and Josh Hughes put UE up 9-5 inside the 16-minute mark.
Drake countered with six in a row to retake an 11-9 advantage, but seconds later, it was Hughes knocking down his second trey to put the Aces back on top. The Bulldogs tied the score on three occasions late in the half but would not regain the lead during that time. Two free throws by DU tied the game at 23-23 with 7:04 remaining. A jumper by Moeller put UE back in front as the squad slowly extended the lead in the final two minutes. After a layup by the Bulldogs cut the deficit to 31-27 with 1:34 on the clock, UE regained control.
Hughes’ third triple of the night was followed by Moeller’s fifth basket of the contest to push the lead to a game-high nine points at 36-27. Drake hit a triple in its final possession to make it a 6-point game at the break. UE had three players in double figures at halftime with Hughes and Moeller scoring 11 while Quinet tallied 10.
AJ Casey knocked down consecutive baskets to put the Aces back up by nine points before Alex Hemenway converted back-to-back 3-pointers to give Evansville its largest lead of the game. His 3-pointers put UE up 48-33 with 16:33 left in the game. Another 3-pointer by Hemenway solidified a 56-38 lead inside of 14 minutes left before Moeller’s third long ball pushed the advantage to a game-high 19 points – 59-40 as the game entered the final 13 minutes. Evansville connected on its opening 10 attempts in the second half to extend the lead.
The Bulldogs slowly chipped their way back into it as a pair of triples made it a 13-point game (63-50) with 9:44 on the clock. Four free throws over the next minute chopped the gap back to single digits. Casey ended the 7-0 Drake run with a bucket at the 7:29 mark. Despite the basket, the Bulldogs continued to claw their way back with eight in a row to make it a 3-point game – 65-62 – with 5:38 on the clock. Keying that rally was a 4-point play.
Quinet hit a layup before Moeller found Connor Turnbull for the alley-oop to push the lead back to seven points, but a tenacious Drake squad got back within four as the game went into its final three minutes. Two huge free throws by Quinet made it a 6-point game before Drake found its groove once again. Following a pair of free throws, Andrew Alia knocked down a 3-pointer with 2:23 on the clock to get his squad within one (72-71).
Connor Turnbull hit a free throw in the ensuing possession to push the edge to two points before Drake countered with a 3-point play that gave them the lead for good. They would hang on to win by a final of 82-78. Casey did his best to give UE a chance, hitting a triple with eight ticks remaining to make it a 1-point game, but the Aces would get no closer as they fell by four points.
UE shot a season-high 54.5% in the game marking the fourth time in five games the Purple Aces have shot over 50%. The Bulldogs shot 43.1% in the contest. Evansville led for 35:02 and trailed for just over two minutes in the game. UE remains on the road for a Saturday game at UNI. Tip is set for 3 p.m. at the McLeod Center. |
