MONOLOGUE A
|
|

Join the Reproductive Rights Change-Lab, UEIPCA, and The Menstrul Equity Club in the John David Lutz Theatre Lab at 4:30 P.M. TODAY for MONOLOGUE A: a performance to amplify stories from our community about how reproductive rights policies shape real lives.
The lab has been working vigilantly to collect stories from peers on campus about the vitality of reproductive healthcare. These stories, alongside acommpanying reading Shefali Luthra's UNDUE BURDEN, and Jessica Valenti's Abortion Everyday has provided 12 deeply personal and impactful monologues from people just like you and I. Together, with the help of skilled performers, we are able to bring these stories into the light.
Silence isolates us and keeps us from empathy and understanding. Tonight, we hear the voices of those silenced. We hope you'll join us! |

Employee Volunteers Needed- Winter on Walnut- December 3
|
|
Be Part of the Magic – Volunteer for Winter on Walnut! Hi Everyone, I hope you’re doing well! Each year, the Student Activities Board (SAB) brings some of our favorite campus traditions to life. This semester, we’ve already celebrated an amazing Homecoming Block Party—and now it’s time to look forward to Winter on Walnut! Winter on Walnut will take place on Wednesday, December 3, from 4:00–9:00 PM in the outdoor areas surrounding Ridgway University Center. This beloved tradition typically welcomes 500+ members of our campus community each year, including students, families, faculty, and staff. To make Winter on Walnut a success, we need your help! We’re looking for employee volunteers to support the Winter Holiday Village, which features:
- 6 fun games
- 2 novelty attractions
- Multiple selfie spots and interactive activities (think carnival or arcade vibes!)
We need at least 6 volunteers per hour to help run the games so that SAB members—who usually staff these stations—can enjoy the event they worked so hard to create. If you’re able to lend a hand, please sign up for a time slot here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4EABA82EA4FECF8-60302540-winter#/ Thank you for helping us make this tradition magical for our campus community! New Book Chapter by Clark Kimberling
|
|
Clark Kimberling, UE Professor of Mathematics, has a chapter in a new online book entitled Polynomials - Exploring Fundamental Mathematical Expressions, published this month by IntechOpen. The chapter, "Polynomial Points in the Plane of a Triangle," analyzes special objects (points, lines, and curves) in the plane of an abstract triangle. If the side-lengths of the triangle are variables a, b, c, then the special objects have homogeneous barycentric coordinates that are polynomial functions of a, b, c. The book can be accessed at https://www.intechopen.com/books/1003926, and from there you can download each of the eight chapters. |

Holland and Cruz to represent UE at AVCA Convention
|
|
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville graduate assistant Jordan Holland and junior libero Ainoah Cruz will be representing the Purple Aces volleyball program at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Convention next month in Kansas City.
"Congratulations to Jordan and Ainoah on being honored by the AVCA and earning a scholarship to attend the AVCA Convention in Kansas City this December, and what a great moment for our program,” UE head volleyball coach Zach Weinberg exclaimed. “They are incredible stewards of Aces Volleyball, and I'm thrilled the AVCA recognized what we see every day. They are going to have a remarkable experience, and I can't wait to watch how their experience at the AVCA Convention aids them in their careers, on and off the court."
Holland is one of 16 recipients of the Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship. The program funds cover registration and hotel costs to bring a group of 16 up-and-coming volleyball coaches to their first AVCA Convention. This opportunity gives recipients the chance to network with successful coaches from all levels and take part in a diverse group of educational opportunities.
"The Coaches 4 Coaches cohort is incredibly selective, so Jordan earning a spot in that group says a ton about the young coach that she is and the future she has in our sport,” Weinberg said. “Jordan has grown tremendously during her time at UE, and I'm thrilled that she will have this convention experience to expand her network, meet other young coaches at similar stages of their careers, and learn a great deal about the art of coaching. She has been an integral part of the staff, and winning this scholarship is a remarkable reward for all the hard work she has put in."
Cruz will be joining 35 other student-athletes at the convention to serve as demonstrators for on-court educational sessions throughout the event. The program, which is in its fifth year, provides attendees with the chance to attend educational seminars at the event. Many of these seminars focus on professional and personal development for coaches while giving them the chance to network with hundreds of coaches who are attending the convention.
One of the factors in selecting demonstrators was their interest in pursuing a coaching career. Of the 36 demonstrators, 31 are indoor volleyball players while five are beach players. Sixteen currently play at the Division I level, 11 at Division II, eight are currently competing in Division III and one plays at the NAIA level.
"Ainoah is the consummate leader for this program, and she is a volleyball junkie through and through. I can't think of someone who will be a sponge and learn through this experience more than Ainoah will. Having her on the court, learning and demonstrating her skills for coaches from all over the world, is just the next step in what will be a long and prosperous volleyball career for her,” Weinberg explained. “I'm excited that she gets to attend the convention, and when she's not on court demonstrating, she will be able to participate in the educational sessions and expose herself to a side of the game she's not quite used to yet. This experience will be incredibly formative in her career, and I am thrilled to experience it alongside her."
The convention takes place Dec. 17-21 in Kansas City, Mo. |

Four Aces Earn Women's Soccer All-Conference Honors
|
|
ST. LOUIS – Following a season in which the program saw its highest win total since 2021, the University of Evansville women's soccer team placed four student-athletes on MVC All-Conference teams, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior Taylor Johnson (Evansville, Ind./Reitz) earns all-conference honors for the second time in her career, landing on the All-MVC Second Team after being a Third Team selection in 2024. Johnson took her game to the next level in 2025, posting single season career-highs in games played (16), starts (16), assists (3), points (9), shots (18), shots on goal (13), and minutes played (1,034). Johnson scored three goals on the year, ranking second on the team.
Brielle LaBerge (Cumming, Ga./Forsyth Central) enjoyed a breakout campaign as a sophomore in 2025, starting all 16 matches while playing 1,422 of a possible 1,440 minutes. While serving as an anchor of the Evansville defense, LaBerge was also one of the top offensive threats in the conference, finishing the regular season second in the MVC with five assists and first in assists per game at 0.31. LaBerge also added a goal to finish the year with eight points, while placing eight shots on target.
Allie Lammers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) emerged as one of the top goalkeepers in the MVC this year to earn Third Team all-conference accolades. Serving as Evansville's primary keeper, Lammers posted a 6-4-2 record with five shutouts in 13 matches. Lammers ranked inside the top 100 nationally in goals against average (1.00), the lowest mark by a UE primary starter since 2020. For the year, the sophomore made 46 saves for a .793 save percentage, including eight matches with four-plus saves. Over the course of the season, Lammers earned three MVC Goalkeeper of the Week awards, the most by a Valley keeper this season while marking the first time an Evansville keeper has been named MVC Goalkeeper three times in a single season since Simone Busby in 2014.
Lily Kytasaari (Platte City, Mo./Platte County) lands on the MVC All-Freshman Team following a stellar debut season with the Purple Aces. Playing in all 16 matches with one start, Kytasaari logged 498 minutes and scored two goals, becoming one of four Aces to score multiple goals on the season. With the nod, Kytasaari becomes Evansville's first All-Freshman team selection since Hailey Autenrieb in 2021. |
