A contractor will replace the roof on Schroeder Hall.

Impact for Campus:

- There will be construction traffic, dust, and noise.

Action(s) Required:

- Please follow posted signage, caution tape and cones

- Please do not park near Schroeder Hall Cooling Tower or the north entrance of Schroeder Hall

- Use caution near equipment and construction activity.

* UE Class of 2024 Achieves 98% Career Outcome Rate

The University of Evansville is celebrating a 98% career outcome rate for the Class of 2024. This outcome demonstrates that 98% of graduates secured employment or enrolled in further education within months of completing their degrees. Of those pursuing further education, 72% are attending schools in Indiana, including UE, IU, and Purdue. The data was collected by the Center for Career Development and reflects outcomes for graduates from December 2023 through July 2024. A proud moment for the entire UE community. * University Closed for July Fourth Holiday

The University of Evansville (UE) will be closed in observance of the July Fourth Holiday on both Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4. All campus departments and buildings will be closed. Campus will reopen and resume normal operations on Monday, July 7.

Join our Summer "Eat the Rainbow" Nutrition Challenge! A diet rich in fruits and vegetables is important for overall health & longevity. Eating a variety of types and colors of produce gives your body the mix of nutrients it needs, including fiber and micronutrients.

We challenge you to consume at least 600 grams by weight (or about 4 cups) of fruits and vegetables of your choice daily. Items measured can be cooked, canned, frozen or fresh - more guidelines will be provided closer to the challenge start date. Those that meet the challenge goal will be entered into a prize drawing!

This is a self-guided challenge - a printable fruit & veggie tracker will be provided at the start!

Workshop TitleAI-Powered Teaching Strategies: Applying AI Tools in Course Design, Feedback, and Responsible AI Use

Facilitator: Kevin Jones, Ed.D., Indiana University Columbus; Director, Center for Teaching and Learning; Associate Professor of Management, Division of Business

Workshop Description:

This three-hour interactive workshop is designed for higher education faculty looking to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their teaching practices. Participants will engage in hands-on activities to explore AI tools and techniques for designing engaging courses, providing effective feedback, creating assignment prompts, and developing assessment rubrics. Additionally, the workshop will address the importance of teaching students responsible and ethical ways to use AI in their academic work. Key topics covered in this workshop include:

  1. Introduction to AI in Higher Education: Overview of AI's potential and its role in enhancing teaching practices
  2. Hands-on AI for Course Design: Exploring and applying AI tools to create engaging and effective courses
  3. AI for Feedback: Practicing the use of AI to provide personalized and timely feedback to students
  4. AI for Assignment Prompts: Crafting innovative assignment prompts using AI technologies through guided exercises
  5. AI for Assessment: Developing and implementing AI-assisted rubrics for evaluating student work, with real-world examples
  6. Responsible AI Use: Teaching students ethical and responsible AI practices in academic settings, including group discussions and case studies

By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained practical experience and strategies for integrating AI into their teaching practices, improving student learning outcomes, and fostering responsible AI use in their classrooms.

* ERIC RENSCHLER WINS MAYOR'S ART AWARD

Eric Renschler, UE Director of Community Arts, has received the Mayor's Art Award from The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana.

The 2025 Art Awards: The Big Picture will be held on Thursday, August 14th from 5:30-8 pm at City View at Sterling Square, and will include recognition in the following categories: Visual Art Award, Performing Art Award, Young Artist Award, Arts Educator Award, andArt Project Award. In addition, the Arts Council Staff and Board of Directors will present the Arts Council Award to two recipients, and Mayor Stephanie Terry will present the prestigious Mayor’s Art Award.

* DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY ARTS ENGAGEMENT COMPLETES RESIDENCY IN MONTREAL

Director of Community Arts Engagement, Eric Renschler recently completed a residency at the Theatre St. Denis in Montreal, Quebec recreating the Broadway production of the musical Chicago.  The French language production marked the 19th international production he has worked on since it opened in New York City 28 years ago.

* Journal of Nurse Anesthesia Education Publishes Manuscript by CRNA Faculty

* AANA Appoints Two from CRNA to Serve on Committees

Dr. Melissa Eisenhauer, DNP, CRNA, Nurse Anesthesia Program Administrator, and Aprilrose Monroig, BSN, SRNA, Nurse Anesthesia Student, have been appointed by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) Board of Directors to serve on committees for the AANA from August 2025 until August 2026.  Dr. Eisenhauer will serve on the Government Relations Committee.  The GRC addresses matters pertaining to federal legislation and regulations and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.  Aprilrose will serve on the Professional Development Committee.  This committee develops, implements, and evaluates the AANA’s educational content and programs.  It is an honor to be chosen from among thousands of CRNAs and Nurse Anesthesia Students to serve at the national level.  Both Dr. Eisenhauer and Aprilrose are proud to represent the University of Evansville!

* Four Aces named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The 2024-25 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced today with 1,499 women’s collegiate golfers from 403 programs recognized with this prestigious honor.

Earning the honor from the University of Evansville were redshirt senior Mallory Russell, sophomores Trinity Dubbs and Jane Grankina, and freshman Elizabeth Mercer.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:

  • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
  • Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
  • Have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

* UE Athletics announces launch of 50/50 raffle benefitting Purple Aces Club

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville Athletic Department is excited to announce the launch of the Purple Aces 50/50 Raffle, a dynamic new way for fans to support their favorite teams and possibly win big! Proceeds from the raffle will directly benefit the Purple Aces Club, the official fundraising organization dedicated to enhancing the experience of UE student-athletes.

Each raffle gives participants the chance to walk away with half the jackpot, while the other half goes toward providing critical resources for Purple Aces Athletics — including scholarships, facility enhancements, and program development across all 17 varsity sports.

Fans can purchase raffle tickets in person at UE athletic events and at the Carson Center Ticket Office during operational hours, with drawings held throughout the year. The more tickets sold, the bigger the prize — and the bigger the impact on UE's student-athletes and programs.
