The Evansville Executive Interfaith Partnership (EEIP) and religious leaders from the community will be releasing a joint public statement today at 12:30 p.m. in the Neu Chapel narthex regarding the tragic events in Charlottesville, the current interfaith climate, and events that promote racism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of bigotry and hatred. Our various faith traditions call us to stand for the sacred worth of all people, the supreme value of love, and the mandate for justice, which is part of all faith traditions. We condemn violence and harassment as well as hatred and division on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion and other normal human qualities.
About the EEIP
The Evansville Executive Interfaith Partnership (EEIP) is a University of Evansville initiative that strives to communicate the positive relationships, collaborative spirit, and common ground, which have been developed and continue to be nurtured among religious communities in the Tri-State area. Understanding that Southern Indiana is a religiously diverse community, we aspire to make known the valuable connections, which are being developed for the greater good in order to facilitate peace in the world. The EEIP serves as a reasonable, public voice for the Evansville/Tristate area regarding religious issues, celebrations, diversity, and concerns.
