“It is a great day for UE baseball to have its first ever MVC Player of the Year,” said Evansville head coach Wes Carroll. “He earned it by having one of the best seasons I’ve ever seen. Every day Kevin came to the yard focused and determined to help his team win. It is great to see him get rewarded for his efforts.”
A freshman left-hander from Bowmanville, Ont., Harkness is 6-3 this spring with a 4.25 earned run average. He is second on the team in wins and ERA this season. Harkness has posted seven quality starts in his 13 appearances and has walked only 17 batters in 78.1 innings pitched.
“Brodie has had a great year for a freshman in our program,” added Carroll. “He has a very bright future and will be leader on the pitching staff for years to come.”
