It is nearly time for the new class of UE students to arrive. We want to welcome the new students to the UE campus the best way possible. A big thanks to all the students who volunteered for the Move in Crew - we now have all the help we need for that portion of Move In Day activities.  But if you are faculty or staff, you can still help by being a member of the Meet and Greet Team. This group of volunteers will be needed during three shifts on Saturday, Aug. 20. The role of a greeter is to direct new students and families around campus, especially as they move in to the Residence Halls. This process helps the Move In process run smoothly and is a huge help to our students and their families. If you would like to help please email Geoff Edwards at ge21@evansville.edu and reply as to which time you would like to work. The shifts are:8 a.m.-10 a.m.;10 a.m.-noon; and noon-2 p.m.

The Office of University Relations is working to finalize the printable calendar for the 2011-2012 academic year. The women’s restroom on the first floor of Olmsted Hall will be closed for renovation during the period of July 28-Aug. 19.

The Fitness Center will be closed  Monday, Aug.1 through Friday, Aug. 5 for refinishing of the gym floors. It will reopen Monday, Aug. 8 at 8 a.m.

When Evansville College (now the University of Evansville) opened in Septemeber 1919, a total of 96 students were enrolled. When counting the local citizens taking the community courses also offered by the college, the total increased to approximately 300.
