Being thirsty is not a good indication of hydration. If you wait until you are thirsty to drink, you are already dehydrating. Water is essential for proper cell function, waste removal and joint lubrication, so be sure that you’re getting enough. Drink 6-8 glasses of water each day, especially before and after exercise. In this hot, humid weather, extra water is recommended.
