The Office of Accounting/Payroll will be issuing W-2’s for 2014 no later than January 31, 2015. We are pleased to announce that you can choose one of two options to receive your W-2:
• Electronic W-2 – If you provide your consent, you will receive an e-mail notification via AceNotes Extra that your W-2 is ready to view/print on WebAdvisor.
• Paper W-2 – If you prefer, you can continue to receive a paper W-2 in the mail, as you have in the past.

Among the advantages of electronic W-2’s: (1) you will have access to your W-2 a couple days earlier than a paper copy that is mailed to your home (2) you can print as many copies of the W-2 as you need. The electronic W-2 is IRS compliant and can be submitted with your tax return.

To take advantage of the electronic W-2 option, you must log onto WebAdvisor and select the option “W-2 Electronic Consent”. Click the first radio button to give your consent. You will not receive paper W-2 in the mail if you select the electronic W-2 option.

If you choose to withhold your consent to view/print your online W-2, a paper copy will be prepared and mailed to you at your home address.

* Men's and Women’s Soccer Receives NSCAA Team Academic Award

The University of Evansville men’s and women’s soccer programs were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their academic achievements.

Evansville was one of only 208 colleges and universities to have both the men’s and women’s soccer teams receive the NSCAA Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.

The UE men’s soccer program earned a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 under then head coach Mike Jacobs. The Aces were one of 285 men’s programs across all divisions of the NCAA to garner the award, which is presented to teams with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

“When we are recruiting student-athletes, we always tell them we are going to put them in an environment where they will have to compete academically as well as athletically,” said new head coach Marshall Ray. “To consistently receive this award shows our players embrace that competition. A special thanks goes to our academic support staff and Debbie Kassenbrock. This is an honor for our players and the entire program. It is what the University of Evansville is all about.”

The men’s soccer team has now received the Academic Award in six of the last eight years.

The UE women’s soccer program earned a cumulative GPA of 3.52 under head coach Krista McKendree. The GPA was highest of any Missouri Valley Conference school in women’s soccer this season. The Aces were one of 596 women’s programs across all divisions to receive the award.

“Being able to continue to receive the NSCAA team academic award shows the emphasis our program puts on academics and the commitment our student athletes have to be successful in the classroom,” said McKendree.

This is the 10th time the women’s soccer team has received the annual academic accolade.

* UE Announces 2014-15 Hall of Fame Class

Two coaches, four players and a championship team comprise the 2014-15 University of Evansville Athletics Hall of Fame class.

The new members include: Kathi Bennett (women’s basketball), Amy Lefever-Shearer (women’s basketball), Gwen Lewis (softball), Ryan Miller (baseball), Mattie Ross (softball), Ed Wessel (football) and the 1964-65 undefeated NCAA Championship Team (men’s basketball).

Evansville’s 1964-65 basketball team, which went a perfect 29-0, is the first-ever team to be voted into the Hall of Fame. They are the first in a new team wing to the HOF and more squads are sure to be voted into that wing in the future.

Women’s basketball coach Kathi Bennett coached the Lady Aces for four seasons, from 1996-2000. In 1999, she led UE to the NCAA Tournament and the MVC Championship. From 1998-99, she posted 19 wins, more than the last five seasons combined; during her last two seasons, she posted 42 wins in all.

Amy Lefever-Shearer was the #5 scorer in UE history with 1,362 points. She tied for 2nd at UE in career 3-point field goals with 204. In 1994, she was on both the MCC scholar-athlete team and the all-MCC team.

Head softball coach for 18 years, Gwen Lewis led the 2000 team to their first MVC championship and the 2002 team to the NCAA Tournament. Under her leadership, the 2008 team had the 7th best GPA in the nation. She also produced 27 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team members.

Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2000, Ryan Miller is the only UE player to earn that honor. In addition to pitching 110 innings, he was named to the ABCA All-Region Team and the First Team All-MVC Pitcher in 2000.

Softball player Mattie Ross won the 1999 Stieler Award for UE’s outstanding female athlete. She is still ranked 3rd in career wins (55) and 1st in strikeouts (473) and saves (9). She also ranks second in complete games (61) and shutouts (16).

Ed Wessel, a 2001 inductee into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame, was a 4-year starter for Evansville. He was the team captain in 1951, and was named an All-Ohio Valley Conference player in 1952.

The Men’s Basketball 1964-65 Championship Team was the fourth out of five NCAA Championship winners at the University of Evansville. Coached by UE great Arad McCutchan, the team went a perfect 29-0 en route to the championship; including an 85-82 overtime win over SIU in the championship.

All will be honored at the banquet, which will take place on the morning of February 7th. Full details will be released soon, but the banquet is set to take place at the Centre downtown prior to the men’s basketball game against Bradley at 1:05 p.m. that day.

* UE Faculty/Staff Basketball Tickets

UE faculty/staff can come to the Carson Center Ticket Office and pick up their tickets for this Saturday's (December 13) game at 1:05 p.m. against Murray State. This is a big game for the team and we hope to have all your support.
