Summer Hours Start Today
The University will begin a modified summer schedule on May 12 through August 8, 2014. Business hours for the campus will be adjusted during this period to 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. As always, the area supervisor is responsible for the scheduling decisions that will best meet the University’s and their respective department’s service requirements. We will return to regular hours on Monday August 11, 2014.
The modified summer work schedule is incumbent on ensuring coverage to service our many constituencies. It is important to maintain our commitment and communication with students and their parents during the summer months. Your assistance in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Freeland Featured in The Wall Street Journal
University of Evansville junior Kyle Freeland was featured in The Wall Street Journal on Thursday. The Denver, Colo., native is one of college baseball's fastest rising prospects and is expected to be a top 10 pick in the upcoming Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
His currently 21.8 strikeout-to-walk ratio is one of the best ever accumulated in college baseball and eclipses the marks set by current MLB stars Chris Sale, Stephen Strasburg, Jered Weaver and David Price in their final college seasons.

Sergej Vucetic Transfers to University of Evansville
With two student-athletes signed last week, University of Evansville head coach Marty Simmons and his staff continued their torrid pace on the recruiting trails as he announced that Sergej Vucetic will transfer to the program and begin play in the fall of 2015.
Vucetic, a 7-1 center, spent the last two seasons playing for the University of Nebraska. Originally a native of Vrbas, Serbia, Vucetic began his career with the Cornhuskers in 2012 and appeared in 11 games as a freshman. He played a total of 18 games for the Huskers, totaling 12 points and 6 rebounds. In 2014, Vucetec was honored by the Big Ten Conference, earning a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten Team.
“We are excited about Sergej’s decision to become a part of our basketball family,” UE head coach Marty Simmons said. “He brings great size, skill and length to our team. He possesses the ability to score and also provides us with an inside presence.”
Prior to his collegiate career, Vucetic spent the 2011-12 season at AIM Prep in Northville, Mich. He averaged 19.5 points and 12 rebounds per game. Prior to his time at AIM Prep, he was a member of CAPS All-Stars AAU team and played with an international all-star team at the Northwest Indiana All-Star Classic in April of 2012.
Vucetic spent time playing in the Nike International Junior Tournament, which took place in Paris in 2012. He also played for the FMP Belgrade program, which is considered one of the top youth programs in Europe.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Vucetic will sit out the 2014-15 season, but will be able to practice with the team.
