The University of Evansville wishes to congratulate Susan Calovini, who has been named vice president for academic and student affairs and dean of Salem College in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dr. Calovini joined the University ofEvansville in 2007 as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. On July 1, she will begin her new role at Salem College, the nation’s oldest continually operating educational institution for women.
“During her time at the University of Evansville, Dr. Calovini has proven to be a creative, energetic, and committed leader,” said UE President Thomas A. Kazee. “As dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, she has, among other accomplishments, helped to create a dedicated archaeology laboratory and establish the Melvin Peterson Gallery, and has worked with faculty to pilot a new course for students who have not declared a major.”
“Dr. Calovini’s efforts have boosted the reputation of the University of Evansville and helped fulfill our mission and vision. We are deeply grateful for her service, and we wish her all the best in her new opportunity.”
