What's Happening Today

* This Week in Music: Concert for Cello and Piano

This week’s faculty recital will feature Eykamp String Quartet cellist Schuyler Slack and Associate Professor of Piano Garnet Ungar in a program of standard works for this instrumental duo. Repertory for the recital will include Bach’s Sonata No. 3 in G Minor, BWV 1029; Benjamin Britten’s Sonata in C, Op. 65; and Mendelssohn’s Sonata No. 2 in D Major, Op. 58. The recital will take place in Wheeler Concert Hall this Tuesday evening, January 28, at 7:30 p.m., and it is free and open to the public.

 
* French Club Call Out Meeting Today

Come join us on Tuesday, January 28 at 7:00 in Hyde 204 for French Club! We will be learning about the French Culture throughout the semester. All levels of French welcome! Merci

 
* Kappa Chi Rushing this Evening

Kappa Chi, a co-ed Christian service fraternity, will be holding a rush meeting Tuesday January 28 at 9 pm in Room 271, Schroeder Family School of Business Building. Please note that you can be affiliated with both a social fraternity and Kappa Chi.

 
* Physical Therapy Club Meeting on Tuesday, January 28

The physical therapy club will be holding its January meeting on Tuesday, January 28 at 12 pm. The meeting will take place in Graves Hall, room 104. New members and returning members are welcome to attend. Members who have not paid their spring semester dues should bring $5 to the meeting or submit it to the PT club mailbox by January 31.

 

Upcoming Events

* New openings for Paoli Peak Ski Trip

Due to high demand for the UE student ski trip, the Venturing Crew has secured an additional 46 available spots. The event will be from 5:00 p.m.-3:00 a.m. this Saturday. The cost of the event is only $15!

Registration for the event will be in Ridgway University Center from 4:30-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! You must come in person with a valid student ID and $15 to register.

* Join TEAM UE for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon April 19

Tie up your running shoes and join TEAM UE for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and Mini-Marathon on Saturday April 19, 2014. An informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday January 30 in the Fitness Center Lobby at 5:00 pm. Visit the link www.derbyfestivalmarathon.com to view race, course and training information. * Over 100 employers at Collegiate Career Expo

Would you like access to over 100 employers at Collegiate Career Expo? This free career fair will be held on Thursday, February 13. The event is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Eastern time at the Downtown Indianapolis Marriott. The University of Evansville will provide bus transportation. * Apply To Be An International Orientation Leader (IOL)!

The Office of Cultural Engagement is hiring new International Orientation Leaders. We're looking for responsible, caring, and flexible student leaders who are up to the challenge of welcoming new international students to UE's campus this fall! This is a great opportunity for you to develop leadership skills and gain valuable experience to add to your resume.

Pick up an application in the Cultural Engagement Office (2nd Floor Ridgway, back of Student Life Suite) or access the application online. Applications are due February 11th to the Cultural Engagement Office.
 

 
* Fitness Center Spring Locker Fees Due

Spring 2014 Fitness Center locker rental fees are due now. Locker rental fees may be paid at the Fitness Center office or front desk.

* New Assistant Director of WFF Housekeeping Facilities

* Road Trip Hosts Needed!

The Office of Admission needs current UE students who live in the residence halls to host prospective high school seniors for Road Trip February 21-23rd. * Do you want to be an Orientation Leader (OL)?

Applications will be available beginning January 29. Stop by the dean of students office in Ridgway University Center (Room 230 in the Student Life Center) on or after January 29 to pick up your application packet.

Applications will be due by 4:30 p.m. CST on February 11. A mandatory group workshop will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 9:00-11:00 p.m.
