* UE Intramurals Program Named One of the Nation's Best

The University of Evansville has been named one of the nation’s top schools for intramural sports, as announced by BestColleges.com.The website published the list of top intramural programs this week as part of a series of lists that recognize schools for “unique characteristics that are not often discussed … all incredibly important factors” in a prospective student’s college choice.

More than 85 percent of students at UE participate in intramural sports, from officiating to competing. The intramural schedule changes each semester to offer new activities, and intramurals are open to students of all abilities and interest levels. Past activities have included soccer, flag football, volleyball, sand volleyball, tennis, basketball, floor hockey, cycling, and futsal.

“We’re honored to be recognized by BestColleges.com as a top-tier intramural program,” said Rob Latva, assistant director of the University of Evansville’s Fitness Center and coordinator of the intramurals program. “The intramural student staff works hard night in and night out to give our participants the best possible experience. We take great pride in the diversity of our program, and make every effort to offer activities that appeal to all students.”

“Our intramural program would not be successful without the pride and dedication of the intramural supervisors and intramural officials,” Latva added. “A big thank you goes out to all of our participants who make our program a great success.”
